This is the Union Station location. It’s actually across the railroad tracks from the Union Station. But there is a walk bridge between. This is an excellent place to eat. They have a ton of different options, but I usually opt for something BBQ. I will say this however, not just from my own opinion, but others who have eaten here with me, you must try the Cheesy Potato Bake (in the oval dish), and also the carrot cake, in the other picture. The Potato Bake can come as a side, if you opt for it instead of 2 other sides. Well worth it. They are amazing. If they just had a massive bowl of these potatoes as a main course, I’d get it. The carrot cake, is out of this world. It’s super good. It helps that their cream cheese topping is super good as well. I would go with the intent of having good food. But focus in on trying the cheesy potato bake, and the carrot cake as part of your mission here.

I ordered the lamb ribs. I don't regret this decision but it wasn't everything I had hoped for. Super fatty but it can feed three adults and the price is hard to beat. The coleslaw was absolutely delicious. Heard the baked beans were amazing too. We also tasted the smoked salmon dip which was really good- no regrets there at all. Lastly the burnt ends were tender and delicious. I've heard the sauces are good here but I honestly didn't feel they were anything outside the norm. But great service, cool location and prices that are hard to beat.
We're newish to the area and decided to try Jack Stack this afternoon during restaurant week. We shared the wings and burnt ends as an appetizer and the smoked chicken salad and ribs for our entrées. Service and food was fantastic. We were stuffed and had no room for dessert and brought a carrot cake home, it was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
If you wonder why KC is so popular for BBQ then just eat at Jack Stack. This was hands down the best BBQ meal I've ever had. This is not a typical joint. They have a great dinner atmosphere, excellent cocktails, and top notch food.
We were traveling through and found this restaurant on the way, easy to order online and it was the best BBQ we have had in a long time- it’s hard to balance the cooked meat- juicy and pack it for takeout where the bun is not soaked and they cooked the meats to perfection. Super friendly staff and what looked like a great interior, we hope to visit again when we can dine indoors. Highly recommended!
